Nike is no different than any other successful company today. Branding plays an enormous role in the company and how they present themselves to the world and more specifically their target market. As far as their uniqueness, authenticity, likeability and overall personality, i believe that Nike is unquestionably the leader in their field. Let me get a little bit more specific for you guys.
Uniqueness - When talking about the uniqueness of Nike, it all starts with the "Swoosh." The swoosh is not only one of the most recognizable symbols in the world but has got to be one of the coolest logos ever created. Nike created a side of sports that no one seemed to see besides them. Style. Nike made wearing sporting clothing not only cool for athletic activities but also cool while not competing.
Authenticity - Nike is as authentic as they come, they are the pioneers of the sporting footwear and apparel world. Whether it is their creation of "Nike Air Cushioning", "Shox" technology or use of neon colors to be as noticed as possible, Nike stands alone atop of the sporting apparel world.
Likeability - Who doesn't like Nike? Besides if your working for a competitor (Adidas or Reebok) who honestly doesn't like Nike Products. They are continually coming out with the best technology first, they continue to sponsor the best athletes in each sport (Lebron James, Micahel Vick, Albert Pujols), and they simply look the freshest every season when they come out with their new lines of products. And when it all comes down to liking or not liking a footwear and apparel company, if you look cool in what they are selling and you are buying what they are putting on the shelves you like them.......And considering Nike leads the market in sales every year i would say they are very well liked.
Overall Personality - The overall personality of Nike has got to be one of young hipster in a way. They seem to push the envelope with their styles and product lines as well as give people of an older generation a sense of originality that brings them back to their youth.

A good job overall, but your likeability paragraph is particularly noteworthy for the fact that it puts together a strong logical case buttressed with numbers. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteI think even Reebok and Adidas employees rock Nikes. How can you not? Comfortable, durable, swag...just got everything going for them. Nike is the originators of "uniqueness" when it comes to sneakers and athletic apparel. Only company that gives them a run for their money...FILA. Boom.
